Test before invest
In principle, EDITH services are free of charge. For special services provided by individual consortium partners that require the increased use of human resources or infrastructure, prices can be set on the basis of individual discussions.
Entry level services
The following services are possible starting point into our testing environment. In the case that other services directly fit to your needs you can of course also start there!
Do you want to optimize your production flow and gain insights into lean production and the use of digital tools in production?
During a guided tour of our learning factories for 1 to 3 hours, you will gain insights into best practices for implementing lean methods and leveraging digital tools to enhance and support the production value stream. The tours are conducted by our experts on Lean methodology and cover different production-related topics. For following up we offer consultations on your specific topic in production and contacts to other EDITH partners for the complementary topics Artificial Intelligence, High Performance Computing and Cybersecurity.
Do you want to use AI to simplify retrivial of knowledge from your companies documents?
Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) provides a way to “chat” with your internal company documents without sensitive data leaving the company. hessian.AI provides expert consulting for your use case and data and parameter selection. You will get a testing environment in which a Large Language Model (LLM) is combined with your company data to achieve this convenient way to retrieve information from distributed documents in one place for one month.
Do you want to minimize cybersecurity risks and ensure legal compliance with the Cyber Resilience Act?
The Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) Self-Assessment and Training provides you with the opportunity to expand your knowledge about the CRA and prepare for the challenges of digital security. In this compact, approximately one-hour self-learning unit, you will dive into the key aspects of the new EU regulation governing the IT security of connected products. You will learn how the CRA establishes a unified security level and what specific obligations it imposes on your company. Cost may occur depending on the usage intensity.
Advanced services: Manufacturing
The two following service offers can be delivered on their own or following the Process Learning Factory Tours. They focus on manufacturing SMEs but are not inherently limited to manufacturing sectors. Consulting and project support is done by experts on Lean methodology and Digitalization in production from MDZ. The project duration may vary, consulting during the project is planned with full day meetings. Depending on the outcome of the consulting and the scope of the project, other services from EDITH from the different key areas (Artificial Intelligence, High Performance Computing and Cybersecurity) may be included.
Do you want to learn how to use digital tools for your use case in production?
In a collaborative partnership, our experts start by assessing your digital landscape within your value stream. This analysis identifies strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities, forming the foundation for future digital transformation projects. Costs may occur depending on the demand.
Do you want to learn how to use lean production for your use case?
In a collaborative partnership, our experts begin by visiting your production site to thoroughly analyze weaknesses and identify key pain points. Based on these insights, targeted Lean projects are defined while we support the implementation process throughout the duration of the partnership. Costs may occur depending on the demand.
Advanced services: Cybersecurity
The two service offers below fit well following the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) Self-Assessment and Training, but they can also be delivered on their own, e.g. for SMEs who develop a mobile application for a novel digital product. Both offers target the security of software. Corresponding consultings are conducted by Cybersecurity experts from Fraunhofer SIT.
Are you concerned about security and privacy of your self-developed app?
In highly competitive markets, app security can be the advantage that makes you the market leader. We can perform evaluations that identify security characteristics of your app as part of a basic automated app security scan. Fraunhofer SIT has developed the »Appicaptor« test framework with this scenario in mind, giving app developers and users an opportunity to automatically check if (their) apps are compliant with the security requirements.
To evaluate your app, the unencrypted app binary has to be provided after mutually signing an NDA. The findings of the subsequent analysis will be presented and discussed within a consultation hour.
Do you need to analyze software for security vulnerabilities, either your own code or third-party software?
We offer a limited use of the software scanner VUSC to obtain a Cybersecurity assessment of a self-developed or external software you are planning to use or already using. Unlike other software scanners, VUSC does not require the source code. In addition, VUSC operates on-premises, not in the cloud, giving users full control over their data at all times. Cost may occur depending on the usage intensity.
Entry level services: AI and HPC
The two following service offers serve as entry into EDITHs Computing services. As computing for Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a form of general High Performance Computing (HPC), they are inherently linked. While computing for AI is mostly following a data-driven approach realized (specialized) on GPU clusters provided within EDITH by h.AI, technical aspects of HPC as well as specialized rule-driven approaches fit better into the services provided within EDITH by GSI. Both partners offer initial consulting and will forward to the other partner, respectively, if the customer fits there better.
Are you planning to use AI in your company and want to evaluate the feasibility of different use cases?
Within 1 to 2 workshops, we evaluate one or more potential AI use cases in your company on dimensions like required data quality, compute requirements, estimated business value or fit into your IT landscape. The experts from hessian.AI provide deep AI expertise across various application fields.
Do you need more Computation power and want to evaluate if High Performance Computing is fitting to your needs?
We evaluate the potential need for solutions via High Performance Computing (HPC) in an online meeting initially set for one hour, or in combination with a guided tour through our Green IT Cube HPC centre on-site, for about 3 hours in total. There are experts from GSI for different fields such as state-of-the-art concepts behind green HPC technology as well as software solutions.
Advanced services: AI and HPC
Depending on the outcome of initial Artificial Intelligence (AI) or High Performance Computing (HPC) consulting, different services are offered within EDITH in the respective fields. Both partners are active research institutions in their fields and as such can offer state-of-the-art insights as well as relevant contacts.
Do you need high-performance AI-optimized computing power for model training / finetuning / testing, proof-of-concept developments and AI research?
We offer a cluster with 632 NVIDIA A100 GPUs and specialized components like 4 Graphcore Bow-200 nodes and an integrated Nvidia developer toolkit.
Are you planning to use High Performance Computing and need additional computation power or rackspace?
Depending on your needs and the type of your project, we offer use of our local rack space (within a collaboration) for your own computers or help with establishing contact with other (EDIH) HPC centres in Germany and abroad. The project duration varies depending on the use-case.
Are you interested in joint research & development project in the fields of High Performance Computing, Big Data, ultra-fast data acquisition, or related fields?
We can establish contact with researchers active in these fields with access to a research-oriented HPC centre. This aims at giving high-tech SMEs the possibility to join concrete R&D projects with GSI. The project duration varies depending on the use-case.
AI Industry Challenge
The AI Industry Challenge is a special “Hackathon” offer by h.AI.
Within the challenge, an AI use case on real-world company data can be explored in an open innovation format. AI developers from hessian.AI network and potentially all over the world are invited to solve the challenge within a limited period of time.
